The Arts & Minds

Bridging the arts with critical thought is what being a Schola member is all about.

By better understanding how students engage, we are able to thoughtfully develop opportunities that highlight the value and abundance of arts and culture on our doorstep.

On Campus & Beyond

Art gallery talks, Open Visions Forums, conversations with historians, comedians and activists, Professor’s book talks, explorations in the broader Fairfield area, and countless hours of connecting with peers, community members, faculty and administrators.

Seasonal Brochures are curated to promote our region as a destination for theater, music, dance, fine art, and community programming. Learn more about what’s in store below!

Print & Digital Content

Schola members collaborate on a visually appealing and engaging Arts & Minds social media presence, documenting every aspect of the experience, including promoting academic centers, writing and editing program recaps, and highlighting aspects of campus life.

Temple Grandin, PhD, a renowned neurodiversity advocate, academic, and ethologist.

Intentional Conversation

Just like pre-production for documentaries, at the Schola, we engage in thoughtful preliminary research on our interview subjects to welcome them to campus. Many times, we are the first students that speakers who come to the university will converse with, ensuring we are representing the university accurately and with integrity and professionalism is key.

Stav Shaffir, a social entrepreneur, former Member of the Israeli Parliament, and one of Israel's most prominent leaders for democracy.

Eboo Patel, PhD, a civic leader who believes that religious diversity is an essential and inspiring dimension of American democracy.

Elizabeth Weitzman, a journalist, film critic, and the author of more than two dozen books for children and young adults.

All Roads Lead to Fairfield U

Connecting our student body, faculty, administrators and community members to the University’s values, we, the Schola, navigate a balance between action and reflection, training not only for a career but for a fuller way of seeing.
